On November 13th the Vierte Welle Film Festival will introduce a new category: #niunamenos. Screening short films made by Latin American filmmakers who claim to be part of the feminist movement “-Not one (woman) less-“ that emerged in Argentina in 2015, which would later expand on a large scale to several countries in Latin America and other regions of the world. It is a protest group that fights against violence against women and its most serious and visible consequence, feminicide.

The session #niunamenos at the Vierte Welle Festival is organised by Sorora e.V in collaboration with Karne Kunst and Xochicuicatl e.V, and is supported by the Draussentad- call for action program.



Brave women

Koshi Ainbobo, meaning in Shipibo Konibo “Brave Women”, is a documentary that narrates the stories of two native women from the Amazon forest, the normalization of sexual violence, the right to choose over the women’s body, and motherhood. And how, despite all, they want to continue studying to become professionals.

About the film

The patriarchy that takes away women’s right to life is the same one that deforests the planet, which established, centuries ago, the taboo around menstruation and created the false sense of “freedom” of the tampons and pads companies, turning women into hostages of these industries. All these violent actions, unfortunately, are connected.

Yenny is a trans woman in a town in Argentina. In her childhood, she had to deal with prejudice and the town’s discrimination.

She lived in Buenos Aires during the dictatorship and in Mar del Plata, where she worked in theaters and cabarets. Recently, she had sex reassignment surgery.
