On November 13th the Vierte Welle Film Festival will introduce a new category: #niunamenos. Screening short films made by Latin American filmmakers who claim to be part of the feminist movement “-Not one (woman) less-“ that emerged in Argentina in 2015, which would later expand on a large scale to several countries in Latin America and other regions of the world. It is a protest group that fights against violence against women and its most serious and visible consequence, feminicide.

Koshi Ainbobo, meaning in Shipibo Konibo “Brave Women”, is a documentary that narrates the stories of two native women from the Amazon forest, the normalization of sexual violence, the right to choose over the women’s body, and motherhood. The patriarchy that takes away women’s right to life is the same one that deforests the planet, which established, centuries ago, the taboo around menstruation and created the false sense of “freedom” of the tampons and pads companies, turning women into hostages of these industries. Yenny is a trans woman in a town in Argentina. In her childhood, she had to deal with prejudice and the town’s discrimination.
