Referring to the socially established canons of beauty – Opening 12.5.2021

Director: Celina Duprat
Country: Argentina

Ode to #Summer is all about #desire. It explores the delicious #taboo of female strength, that which triggers the most intimate spots until exploding in pleasure.

The protagonist goes through a feeling of uncomfortable and uncertain #loneliness, which puts her in a passive perspective, being a witness of her friends.

However, there is a sense of audacity, authenticity, a desire for herself that opens to a world of #fantasies of becoming the character of her

Ribbon lady

Director: Ludmila Cimbůrková
Country: Czech Republic

Ribbon lady’s job is to sit naked in front of a high school figure painting class. Her #old body is presented in all its #beauty covered with #wrinkles that let us know of her wisdom. Her light-hearted life is full of happy little accidents, #stereotypical rituals, feminine love and her beauty.

Godmothers: vaginismus stories

Director: Laura Laplana
Country: Spain

#Vaginismus is a condition in which involuntary contractions of muscles in the #vagina makes penetration impossible. It has been considered a psychological problem without specific treatment but the protagonists of this #shortfilm prove these theories wrong with their stories of overcoming vaginismus with physiotherapy.

Diana, Iraida and Jacqueline begin to shape an artistic project that they want to exhibit soon. Montse began years ago to organize an association. All of them want vaginismus to stop being invisible, and for that they have to name it and tell it. Because as they well know, what has no name does

Community Guidelines

Director: Marija Lucic

The film Community Guidelines presents a naked model with covered eyes. The images are followed by a #robot voice-over stating the Social Media Community Guidelines about #nudity: what is adult nudity, which content is forbidden, and what are the consequences for violating the guidelines. Isn’t it weird that we are still living in a world where some parts of the human body are considered a #taboo?

This one weird trick

Director: Joanie Wind
Country: United States

A woman slogs through an identity mired with #gendered #stereotypes and consumer #capitalism to attempt to discover her true self. What is “natural” or “original” becomes inaccessible, forgotten, and nonexistent.

Just. Another. Month.

Director: Charlotte Weinreich, Rosa-Lena Lange
Country: Germany

In #Namibia, many women* suffer not only from a lack of adequate #menstrual hygiene products, but above all from the fact that menstruation is seen as something impure. The stigmatization of the period often prevents them from participating in community activities, going to school or isolates them completely during their period.
We have accompanied two Namibian #activists with the camera. Both women are working in different ways against period poverty in Namibia and are fighting for equal rights for women and girls. At the same time, the film sheds light on the various perceptions of Namibian schoolchildren, women and men of different ages and backgrounds on the topic. This collage of individual impressions reveals the difficulties women face with regard to #menstrualhealth and hygiene, as well as the critical social consequences that result from the widespread tabooing of menstruation in society.

OH SH*T!
